Recently I bought "Resident Evil 2" at Best Buy, and I want to make a backup copy of the movie on to either DVD+R or DVD-R. I try to use DVD X Platinum and 1 Click DVD Copy softeware. They did not work. They have a message "error because of bad sectors due to copy protected scheme". I guess the movie studio purposely added dummy sectors to prevent from copying. Is there any burning softeware or dvd ripper in the market that can handle this type of problem and also format compatable with standalone dvd player.

AnyDVD http://www.slysoft.com
DVD Decrypter http://www.dvddecrypter.com or here at AD. Both of the above have just been updated. For programs that just need the encryption cracked, AnyDVD is the bet, it allows the programs to function. I use HD files, so I rip with DVD Decrypter and load the file into the program from the HD. I leave AnyDVD running in the background even when running DVD Decrypter. Just backed up my copies of RE2 and Little Black Book without the slightest problem.

You'll need to do a patch on your XCopy so the Browse function will work. http://www.dvdripforums.co.uk
With the Browse function repaired you can use hard disk files. Rip the files to the HD with the latest version of DVD Decrypter. Allow AnyDVD to run when you're doing the rip (just a little extra insurance). Remember where the movie file is. Create a folder named Movies and drag it in if you're going to leave the file on the PC long term. Now all you have to do is leave the DVDs out of the drive, open XCopy and use the Browse function to open the Video_TS folder of your ripped movie file. Once loaded, use XCopy as usual.
