i have alcohol 120, dvd decrypter, record now max ver7. i'm trying to back up teh bard's tale and i can't adjust the read speed in alcohol 120. can i adjust the read speed in any of these programs? does it matter?

now when burning with alcohol i can only adjust the write speed from maximum and 6.1. every thread i read says burn at 1 or no more than 2 speed. what can i do about this?

Get good media at 4x max recording speed
(should let you burn at 1x then)

The problem with memorex is that they buy their media from several different manufacturers, some good some bad. If I knew I would always get Ricohjpn then I would buy them all the time, but every time I gambled and bought some they were either cmc magnetics or info disk which are both bottom of the barrel clay pigion stand ins. Never again. Since I buy 100 at a time I'm not willing to take a chance on getting crap media

Fuji (made in japan) are great.

Get the 4x max recording speed,
your options should change to 1x.

The newer games are compressed so much that
you really need to burn slower.
