I have been using shrink and decrypter for quite a while. Just recently I have started getting all kinds of I/O errors with decrypter. Nothing on my system has changed and shrink is still working fine. Could this be a disc quality problem??

It well may be a media problem, what are you using?
Have you downloaded the latest DVD Decrypter?
Burning too fast may also be a problem, most here burn at 4x and no higher.

I have the newest version and I burn at 2X. I have these crappy ass Memorex discs. I read a lot of postings that say they are junk. I wish I would have read them before I bought this junk.

Yeah you hit the nail on the head.
I use TDK, Sony, Maxell and Verbatim and rarely have trouble.

anubis1,

A lesson can be learned from bardie,

Those are excellent recommendations.

I would only like to add HP as a decent brand should you see it on sale.

One last addition, it doesn't hurt, while you're shopping for those new discs, to pickup one of those laser lens cleaning discs. They should be used every so often to ensure your burns remain trouble free from dust and dirt -

Cheers all,

Pete

lc11975,

As you have provided us with no information whatsoever there's no way anyone can provide an answer.

LQQk, This is an example of the type of information we need, fill in as much as you can - it's all very important -

Have you tried checking your burning basics ?

Have you flashed your Firmware ?

Do you have a working ASPI layer ?

When was your last Disk Defrag ?
If you have to think about it, it's been far too long.
You need to do it now ! ! !

What is your burner's IDE location ?

What are your burner's Jumper settings ?

What type of media are you using ?
(Of major importance if you're having any trouble burning.)

What programs are you using ? To rip ? To edit ? To Burn ?

What Guide OR Guides are you using ?

Was there an error ? What exactly did it say ?

Exactly where are you and what are you doing when your error occurred ?

What are your PC's specs ?

Do you have any Roxio products installed on your PC ?

Are you operating in the PIO or DMA transfer mode ?
