Simple splitting and joining of VOB files

To try and get some practice in splitting and joining VOB files, I have split a very large VOB into two small VOBS with VOBEDIT and that seems no problem and the files play fine. So far I have tried VOBEDIT to join them using the instructions shown in the guide on the site, but in joining the two VOBS it creates 64 individual VOB files of the type VTS_01_1.VOB - VTS_01_64.VOB. As this is obviously not what I want can someone explain to a novice what I shouid do or what other program I should use to join two files split with VOBSPLIT (or is VOBSPLIT the problem?) ,
