Booting DVD PS2 games with action replay

I've been trying for a while to get copied dvd games to boot using an action replay. I have action replay 2 and action replay 2 version 2. I have read through the forums and seen things about "dvd loader" and swap magic disk. Could some one please let me know if it IS possible to boot dvd ps2 games with just an action replay. If so, then what is the best method to do so? If not, do i need other software like this swap magic/dvd loader.

I know this is probably an ultra noob question but its the only way ill learn :)
