That's a good question from someone(that's
me :)) who is still learning about divx.
I know a rule which says "For enlarging use
bilinear and for shrinking use bicubic".
So...in my case (divx) I "shrink" the video
(I use smaller resolution than DVD's).
Should then bicubic be my choise? And what
are these A=-0.75,A=-0.60 etc?

Thanks

Oooopppsss! :) The rule is the opposite.
"Bilinear for shrinking and bicubic for
enlarging"...
Anyway...what should my choise be?
Bilinear or bicubic?

Thanks

Hi Jino.

Bi-cubic all the way, is what I would say.

I think you probably got that rule from Nicky Page (whose opinion I respect *greatly*), but in this one particular case, I found that his observation, "contrary to popular belief, bi-linear looks just as good as bi-cubic" just didn't seem true (to me). In every case, I found bi-linear resizing to be inferior (b-l-u-r-r-y, jagged edges) to bi-cubic. Bi-linear is faster though. [shrug]
