To put it simple; I just got my first PS2 for X-mas.. its a PS2 Slim. I've been tring to look up what to do for mod's. But im soo into school and things, I think ill just ask instead of blowing up my new toy. I saw a few sections on everyone discussing their systems. Now... i use to be a gamer.. but when the systems went to 300+ for a system.. i said scr*w it. Now im in the game again.. and feel like a lost child. I have noticed that what matters for mods is how you plan on using your system. Well here goes.. I will probably using more back-ups than anything. Im not too into imports, but my best friend is, soo that too. I am a computer guy, so ill probably end up hooking up one of my HD's to it. I like other users here am ultra-lazy so no Software mods. I am very fearful of loosing the laser to my machine.. so if any way of preventing my PS2 from EVER breaking, please advise me. I'd rather spend the money upfront and prevent future maintence. And... im ultra-lazy. i have no idea how this V1 - V12 works.. but i did recognize the model number: SCPH-70012. I am totally unsure of what else to include. But please help me. I was informed that there was an external Modchip...?
I personally would like not to render my case useless.. but i have noticed that if i dont use the stand ... the PS2 gets pretty hot. So im pretty sure it will end up modded as well.
I am no fan of sodering or physical modifications, but i do it all the time for my computers.. so im sure it wont be a problem.
Thanks guys for you help, and time. Sorry to repost what is already in discussion on here, but reading multiple threads just to find out a couple answer is confusing, each thread has the same topic but different responces.. so its difficult to eliminate the good from the bad.
