I have a lite-on ltr-401255 cd drive. I tried to play a dvd and it would not recognize the disc. I assumed this was a dvd drive but maybe not. What can I do to play dvd's on my computer without having to buy a new drive? Thanks

A CD drive will not play DVD's.
You need a DVD ROM or DVD Burner.
The only time it will play is if you have copyied a dvd to a CD.
