I have successfully backed up movies, and a few ps2 games. I ran into a problem with GTA San Andreas and need for speed undergorund 2. The way I modded my PS2 V7 was by using the Slide Card + Swap Magic V3.3 found at, http://www.modchip.com/ps2/slidecard.htm and used Alcohol 120% a message on screen reads not a valid ps2 disc. does anyone know how to fix this deal?
I had the same problem. I can't say this for sure and if anyone knows please reply but it seems to me that higher quality burners have more advanced firm ware the prevents burning some software types. I can't get even a single PS2 DVD backup to work on my Sony DVD burner but 20 backups have worked flawlessly when burnt with my MADDOG.
Yes, I've used the same media for every back up and I just gave DVD Decrypter a try with no success. I wander if anyone has successfully backed up any of these 2 games. If so, how did they?
I have backed up GTA:SA with no issues
The first one with alcohol burned too fast
(avg 2.9x) It still works loads slow
And some cutscenes the sound was stutering
Second time DVD DEcrypter using 1x.
Works perfectly
Same media Verbatim 4x+r
It can be done.
(ver 7 reads +r well you could try those
Thats all i use and have 30+ backups)
(maybe increase your windows pagefile to insure
your system memory doesnt get too low while burning.)

i too am having trouble burning baldurs gate 2 for ps2 it burns fine but wont load up using the swap discs any help please
i managed to burn a copy of gta san no problem using DVD Decrypter at the slowest speed my drive would allow which was about 2.4x using sony dvd-r x4 and datawrite x8 dvd-r
