I usually spend $60 for 100pk of ritek discs, but I did get them for $40 one time. Your sort of right, maybe I like to backup all my games instead of just the new ones! :) Anyway, you didn't answer my question. But thanks anyway.

sorry i dont use "cheap" media... look at it this way.. the money your going to waste on cheap dvd-r's will cost you more in the long run, because more than likely you'll end up having to burn the same game over because it didn't take right, the first time... trust me i know.......do it right the first time... thats my motto...

clownz325,
Haven't tested them personally, but since they are 8x, their media id is probably Ritek G05 which is good since the quality of G04's have gone down. Check out this link: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?selectmedia=1971#comments

These Ritek don't seem to be the best deal around for your PS2. I was having problems using Sony media and tried a backup on a Samsung disc with the manufacturer BeAll, it worked flawlessly. I don't think Ritek are the best DVD's anymore. You might as well buy the BeAll media, looks pretty good to me. TY's are only $48.00 for a 100 spindle and are a very trustable brand of media. If you don't want to try any of those, go to rima.com and email them asking for some samples. They're free. :)

Oh yeah, Maxell is good too, the yellow tops. They are on sale at Office Depot(in-store only) 15-pack for $4.99. I am planning on just printing out the ad from their website and getting them from Wal-Mart. There is a thread about this: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/149586

I'm suprised you had a problem with Sony media. I switched to Sony media after the Ritek quality dropped and haven't had any problems. If there is a staples in your area check out the flyer now in then. Everyonce in a while a 25 pack of Sony 8x DVD-R media is just $10
