I have read the other posts about this movie and I do not see my error anywhere. I have the most updated version of DVD-Decrypter. These are the errors I am getting.....

DVD-Decrypter

Failed to patch file!
L:DVD_Video/Video_ts/VTS_17_0.ifo
Reason:Invalid IFO / BUP

DVD Shrink
DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Invalid data in file L:DVD_video/Video_ts/VTS_03_1_.vob

Are you ripping this movie with AnyDVD running in the background whilst using DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter?
That may just solve your problems.

Yes I was when I was getting the errors. Instead of using dvd-decrypter to rip the movie I used to shrink to rip, shrink, and now Im about to burn it and see if it plays good.

I downloaded DVD Decryter and gave it a shot because Shrink and clad did not rip "The Forgotten". DVDD worked....and Shrink was then able to burn it.

I do think the quality is less than what I would normally get with either Shrink alone or with clad doing the ripping.

Just an observation.

Any masters out there found a solution for this one.

I have tried all the sugested above with no success. Tristar/columbia is on the lable. Also I ran sly fox in the backgroud and tried dvd decreptor, shrk, VOB blanker with no success I get about 57% finished with dvd decreptor and sly fox using shrenk gets about the same before all the problems arise.

Well mine works. I ended up using shrink to open disk (instead of decrypter) then it analysed it and encoded it (took a long time for one movie) then I used decrypter to burn it and it plays fine.

This is how I did it works great for me but it does require alot of hd space. Open up decrypter put it in file mode. rip it to your hard drive, then use shrink open the file on your hard drive. shrink and burn away.

just asking because i have had same problem with several dvds listed as dvd-video being unable having errors and not being able to copy.

You mentioned that you had anydvd running and it burned ok? click on anydvd and just let it run while copying with shrink?

That's what i did. I let AnyDvd run and then used Shrink and it worked, just having problems burning it on to a disc.

I used superdvdcopy it works. It splits the dvd to 2 dvd+rs but' the movie is on the first one and you don't have to use shrink.

Do you have the lastest version of decrypter? Also if you go to the dvddecrpter site there are patches for movies like that. But the lastest version was suppose to take care of that. then have DVD Shrink open it from a file.

for the latest encryption (on forgotten/re2)all you need is DVD Shrink and the latest version of anydvd. no need to use DVD Decrypter because your just adding an extra step. run anydvd in the background and open/backup dvd as normal using DVD Shrink then burn with your favorite burner (roxio, Nero, etc.) booya! done.

ps. i was getting those gay "out of memory errors" before doing it this way.

yes, you need to put the dvd in the drive (close out if you have auto start enabled), then open up anydvd and let it do its thing (there may be a couple of mindless self explanatory clicks involved) which should only take a minute or so. Leave it open, Then do DVD Shrink etc.

The combination of decrypter/shrink has worked well for me but like mentioned there is an additional step involed. I will test AnyDVD and shrink, might save me some time.

Does anydvd work with xcopyxpress? does it cause any conflicts? Xcopy worked fine on friday night lights, but lbb, res and unforgotten failed every time.

xcopy is outdated. use DVD Shrink, it's free (with anydvd running in background)! TRUST ME THIS WORKS!

I did a successful rip and burn this morning of "Forgotten" - I used AnyDVD 4.5.5.1 and DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and Nero 6.3.x.x - had no issues what so ever!!!

everything is a part of anything!!!
