Is there anyway to remove the black border on dvd when copying it so that it fills the screen ?

unless you turn off all the lights when you watch a movie, their is no way to remove the black bars (letterbox). In order to do it professionally you would have to cut all 4 sides of the movie to make it fit on your screen. thats why they say formatted to fit your screen.

Actully When its Formatted To Fit The Screen Its Filmed In A Square So it works with all the tv sizes :)

and...in cutting off the sides, you losing some of the picture. Getting the whole picture is the whole idea of widescreen. The border is just the price to pay for this.

And, for the (apparently) few of us who use captions or subtitles because we are hearing impaired, the captions or subtitles often display over the border, and less over the movie itself, a nice benefit to the border.

If you want full screen, get the dvd in full screen to begin with.

when they format the movie, they edit the size of the film so that it can fit on all tvs no matter what the size.
