The Forgotten DVD - DVD Decrypter ripped all the files accept 56% of one file (VTS_03_4.VOB) - Could someone please please please email this file? How_To_Get_Banned@afterdawn.com thanks Lance
I have tried DvdDecrypter, DvdShrink, SmartRipper, VobBlocker DVDD Clone2dvd and Anydvd. NONE would rip this one file fully only 56% of it. Is that really your email address? Also, are you using the newest DVD Decrypter (v3.5.2.0)? Because I did this movie and DVD Decrypter ripped all files.

Yes thats really my email address - I am a big Led Zeppelin fan.
Yes I have the lastest DVD Decrypter. I have tried everything. This one VOB file just wont rip. Now in my previous post I asked someone to email me the VOB - of course thats impossible because the file is over 1gig -sorry i wasnt thinnking at the time - however if someone could burn it onto a blank DVD and mail it to me I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks Lance

I've gotta think this one is a problem with the DVD. Any scratches on it? Or could it perhaps be somebody else's copy, and not an original?

Like flip, I have also successfully ripped it. Twice, in fact (once to ISO, and once to files). But from a freshly purchased and opened copy.

Yes I purchased this DVD from a store - Took back the first one that I could not rip and got a new one.
Same problem! This is driving me crazy - I have been successful in backing up all 180 of my DVDs until now.
I am in Canada, maybe the candian version is different?
Maybe it cant be ripped
Thanks Lance

Well, it would drive me crazy too, especially the same thing happening on two different dvd's! Did it stop at exactly the same point (56%) each time?

Let's to back to basics, and see if we can find anything different in our setups.

What dvd decrypter mode are you using? (Actually, I've done both ISO-->Read and File modes successfully.)

As for Options, mine are all set at "Defaults." Have you changed any of yours?

What about the computer setup? Fast enough CPU? Enough memory? Hard disk space? Any problematic processes, services, or applications running at the same time (anti virus protection, anti spyware programs)?

As for the possibility that the Canadian version is different, I doubt it. A crude, but probably accurate way to check, is to load up dvd decypter and look at the info. This is what I get with ISO-->Read mode:

Disc Information:
Status: Complete
Erasable: No
Sessions: 1
Sectors: 4,169,920
Size: 8,539,996,160 bytes
Time: 926:40:70 (MM:SS:FF)

(BTW, I've never understood the "Time" values reported by dvd decrypter. I've got to think that is a bug of some kind in the code.)

If the dvd info is the same, and given that it is the second copy you've tried, then I'm thinking the problem is either in your setup of dvd decrypter, or your hardware.

Say, email me at Posting_Your_Email_Address_Gets_You_Banned@afterdawn.com

I brought the Forgotten DVD into work this morning.
I was able to rip that one file on a co-workers Dell laptop with a DVD writer.(running XP Pro) I copied the VOB file to a blank DVD - I'll take it home and now try DVD Shrink.
At home I tried the default setting in DVD Decrypter and other settings ScubaPete suggested. And tried both modes file and ISO - Neither worked. I also never have anything running in the back like norton antivirus - not even printer drivers -
My PC is a P4 1.6 512kRAM ATI 9700pro WinME
I only have 3gig of info on my C-drive 17gig free space
