I recently downloaded "Anydvd" then opened up "Shrink" to back up the movie "Forgotten" now i was unable to burn it on to DVD with Decrypter. Someone mentioned that it has to be ISO file, well how do i go about converting it to an ISO file? Would i have to back it up again with Shrink and if so where are the settings for backing up as an ISO file? Your response is appreciated thanks.

The mention of decrypter in your post makes it hard to understand how you've proceeded. Are you using decrypter or not? If so, then to answer your question about making an ISO, that is a "mode" option in decrypter. Select "mode" and you'll see the ISO options.

However, if you used decrypter with the file mode and ripped to a VIDEO_TS folder, DVD Shrink can work with that just fine. No need to convert to an ISO.

Instead:

1) Open DVD Shrink and select "Open Files"
2) Browse to your VIDEO_TS folder for Forgotten

You should now have everything opened into DVD Shrink just as if you had opened an ISO image.

FWIW, I'm finding the threads and discussions about the Forgotten somewhat confusing. For instance, several are recommending running AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter. I've backed up The Forgotten just fine with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink alone. No AnyDVD anywhere on my computer. Why would AnyDVD be needed anyway with the latest version of DVD Decrypter? No good reason that I can think of.

Also not made clear is whether people are trying to copy the entire DVD, or just the movie. There are in fact two movies on the DVD, though they both appear to use the same VOB files up to a point. In any case, what I did was reauthor with DVD Shrink and just copied "Title 1". I can always go back and watch the original DVD -- yes, I own it (doesn't everyone?) -- and select the alternative if I want to view it. Or make a backup based on "Title 2."

Trying to back up The Forgotten has been instructive. It's forced me to learn to use DVD Shrink, and to see the limits of Roxio Easy DVD Copy (which would crash to the desktop when trying to read the ripped files, or if it got past that, then would just hang at 0% when it started transcoding). And to my surprise, DVD Shrink did something that Roxio cannot do that has vexed me: keep the captions on reauthored/transcoded copies. If I copy an entire ISO with Roxio, it preserves the captions; but if I select only the movie, I lose them. In backing up The Forgotten with DVD Shrink, it preserved the captions even though I copied only "Title 1," and not everything. Nice!

This is starting to make more sense now. Please allow me to revise my question. I used Anydvd to break the codes allowing Shrink to rip the dvd Forgotten and on to my C drive, after that I was trying to burn it on a dvd disc. Are you able to do that with Shrink, I couldn't find any settings or copy on to dvd info so I tried with DvdDecryper and it was just a blank folder but when I went in to the C drive the folder had the files. I guess I was unable to write it with DvdDecrypter since it is not an ISO file.

Well, DVD Shrink by itself cannot burn a dvd. It can, however, use DVD Decrypter (so I've heard) or Nero (that's how it is on mine) to burn the dvd. Look at dvd shrink's Edit-->Preferences-->File I/O and see what it says for "burn preferences."
