JOSh765, how do u apply patch to the ISO games. i know where i can get the patch files but i am have trouble using it. please tell me how u apply patch to your ISO games. o yea, on the third sentense,u said Try extracting the ISO again, and then placing it in the ISO folder. u want me to extract the files inside the WinRAR ISO and put it in the ISO file in the root of my memory stick?

Apply patches using UMD Gen 3.00 or higher. On the top of UMD Gen, there is a button that says apply ppf patch to iso. Just slick it, open the patch, and then save your new iso:)
EDIT -
LMFAO Neph, I think that just overtook the one about women taking from behind and getting pregnant at my favorite Nephism. Keep um coming:p

@johncchc,
no i dont mean extract the actual ISO, i mean extract the WinRAR files agin so u get the ISO again.
To apply a patch you can use UMDGEN 3.00 or higher like SVTSTANG said, or you can use a programme called PPF-O-MATIC3
YOU GET 2 BOXES
Choose your ISO file
Choose you .PPF file
Click apply patch
AND YOUR DONE.
sorry cant but a link on where i got PPF-O-MATIC3 because i got it absolutley ages ago, sorry.
Right well i got to head of to school, its alomost 8 in UK.
will answer any questions when i get back

svtstang and josh, thank you so much. without u two i wouldnt have
gotten the newest games to work like the WWE and socom. u know what i did? i used the UMDgen to put the patch in the ISO game. Then click save as ISO. after that i putted the new ISO i just did into the ISO file in the root of my memory stick. for some strange reason, after i used the UMDGen to save the ISo into a new ISO, somehow it got the device hook to detect the games that was in my ISO file. i am so happy. now that i know how to do it, if anyone out there that needs, feel free to ask me. ^.^

dont worry about it, im just glad i could help in a little bit,
i think svtstang deserves most of the credit, because he knows a hell of alot more on this loader then i do.
and anyone out there wanting to download PSP ISOS, if you are lucky you will be able to find some that have had all the work that needs to be done, done on them already, (thats if your lucky) just downloaded a great BREATH OF FIRE 3 ISO, came with a special loader for that game (works in exact same way as devhook, just has nice background pic of the game)

Congrats to all, nice to see people get their games work this quickly, usually takes many, many posts. No worries John, we are here to help. And also like Josh said, there are a lot of iso's out there are already patched and ready to go, just takes a bit of searching:)

Morning all, well I've been looking through the forums and trying to solve my problem, but just can't manage to sort it out.
I've installed the latest version of DevHook 0.41d. It loads up fine and I select the correct settings on the menu, but when I try to start a game the PSP pauses as though it is about to reset and load up the game, but instead it just switches off.
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a way around this problem?
Thanks in advance :)

Right, here we go then.....
Open the rar file you downloaded and extract the dh folder to the root of your memory stick. Now extract the DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK% folders to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick. You may also have dh_inst and dh_inst% folders in your rar file, if you do, you should also extract these to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick, unless you have downloaded a version that has the 2.00 and 2.50 eboots already installed (full version).
If you haven't got the full version you'll need to download the following files:-
PSP Brew - http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=7996&catid=192 2.00 eboot - http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=280 2.50 eboot - http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=283
Now install and load PSP Brew and load the 2.00 eboot, on the bottom of the PSP Brew window you'll see a list of files, select the DATA.PSR file and then click extract and extract the file to the root of your memory stick. Now on your psp, go to the game menu and load devhook firmware installer and this will install the file for you.
Repeat this for the 2.50 eboot (replace the first DATA.PSR you created on the root of your memory stick) and you're all set up.
ISOs should be placed in a folder named ISO (has to be upper case) on the root of your memory stick.
Now you're ready to play!!!!
Settings for most games in devhook are:-
umd mode - iso anyumd
umd version - 2.xx->2.00
firmware - 2.50 + 2.00
cpu clock - 222/111
Boot selection - reboot xmb

swinton, u said that the game restarts after u executed the device hook. did you have any trouble using the device hook to execute your fireware into 2.5?? if u only need help with loading the game using devicehook, then i think it's the ISO. u have to download a patch to it and then apply to it. what game is this we are talking about?? some games require patch or fix for it to work. if it still doesnt work, reply me back.

Cheers for the reply johncchc
Interesting reply as well that, I think when I get in from work I will try to just emulate v2.50 without loading up an ISO, to as you said try to eliminate one problem, if that does work then it will be the ISO.
The ISO I was trying to load was Tiger Woods. However this is not an untouched ISO, just an ISO which I previously ran with Daxsiso.
I'll try with no ISO first though, and if that fails, then I'll do a chkdsk on my memory card and then reformat it a couple of times in my PSP and start from scratch only using DevHook 0.41d.
Thanks for the reply though as you've got me thinking now :o) Amazing how little thought you give to a situation until someone points out the obvious to you. Cheers, and I will let you know how I get on when I give it a go in a couple of hours time.

does that mean that your ISO is working fine and loading when you use DAXSISO, if it does why not just use that loader for it instead.
Iv got about 4 different loaders on my PSP at the moment.

Cheers for the reply Josh, and yes I too have a few loaders. I used this one so I could see if it was working ok, so then I could get Sims working on my little brothers PSP, as to date he hasn't been able to play it.
As I mentioned above though, will try without ISO and with an untouched ISO and report back :o)

K well I've just tried it with Sims 2 untouched ISO, and the cso version of Sims 2 and neither worked. Tried it with no ISO's in and it didn't work. Reformated my memory stick and installed DevHook 0.41d again with nothing else on it and it still doesnt work :o(
So I can get to the menu screen where I change the settings, then it appears to be resetting but just switches itself off.
Any ideas?

I know this probs not work at all but why not just try using
DEVHOOK 0.41a
thats what i use and i havnt had any problems with it,
i posted a link on this thread already on where to get it from but here it is again
http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=53485
why not try it with just DEVHOOK 0.41a, worth a try right?
and make sure your settings are on:
UMD Mount: ISO ANYUMD
Firmware: 2.50+2.00
Boot Select: Reboot XMB
UMD Version: 2.XX -> 2.00
CPU Clock: 333 MHz / 166 MHz. ( or the 222 MHz / 111 MHz )
hope maybe that works
