Samsung SCD86 no picture showing up

I recently recieved a samsung SCD-86 camcorder. It worked fine for the first few uses and uploaded well to my computer. I have not used it in about a month and when i powered it up today it did not work. No picture showed up throught the LCD or the viewfinder. When i tried to record it would record sound but the picture would be black. Does anyone know A)what caused this and B) how to fix it?
