This is my first tme backing up PS2 Games , I have a Powerbook G4 1.33 with 768MB and a Lacie DL 8x DVD-/+R(W), how do I backup my games?
I've also got a MK.Deception but the files that I have:
Mortal.Kombat.Deception.cue 4kb
Mortal.Kombat.Deception.bin 797 MB
that is small file for a dvd .. anyways.. how do I put this on a disk that will work.. and someone that could give me step by step process to do so using a Mac OS X(10.3.7) system
Thanks
Good question. I have the exact same setup as you do..comp, burner, etc. The first thing I did was buy the fast DVD copy program, just google for the site. It's a bit pricey ~100 bucks but it works flawlessly, and it only takes one click and less than 7 minutes for a backup ps2 game. I am also happy to report that I am able to use any garbage blank dvd-r's to burn with, just make sure to use -r's. Make sure you have the original game or a backup to use fast dvd copy 3.3 because it won't burn from .iso files. It sounds like you have the v12 "slim" ps2 which i don't have...but i do know that you can get the fliptop and swap magic discs 3.3 online for ~50 bucks. That will allow you to play any backup you can think of. Just make sure not to buy anything from modchip.com..they take forever and in some cases rip people off. It's a little bit of a upfront investment, but since you have superior quality hardware, you may as well use it to its full pontential.
