I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question, but here goes...

I'm trying to extract only the audio from DVD's (concerts) onto hard drive, either as MP3 or WAV file, so I can then burn it onto CD-R.

I've downloaded DVD Audio Extractor from here:
http://www.download.com/DVD-Audio-Extractor/3000-2140_4-10354362.html

I was able to extrac the audio from the DVD onto the hard drive in wav format and then I burned it onto CD.

After that, I decided to listen to it - it turns out that both the extracted audio on the disc and on the hard drive have a "scratching" or "static" type noise that randomly occurs throughout some of the songs.

I've not had any problems burning cds, or dvds before, and this is my first experience with audio extraction.

Does anyone know what would cause this? Is the program I'm using low quality? Or is there a wrong setting?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

there are alot of dvd audio extractors out there. use google as your search engine and simply search for "dvd audio extractors". It pops up alot of them that really look nice too. Here are a few of the better ones that i located. They are alot of trials that are fully functional for 30 days or so. http://www.download.com/DVD-Audio-Extractor/3000-2140_4-10354362.html

The first link you provided is to the audio extractor I already used. :)
I check out the other ones, however, I'm skeptical at this point. If someone has a technical explaination as to WHY this noise is ocurring it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
