can you rip a DVD to CD-R?

looked at a web page DVDSqueeze. says it can compress a DVD to CD-R (700MB!) with out hardly losing any quality, the screen shots look better than SVCD. (looked like DVD quality to me.) heres the site. www.dvdsqueeze.com i would like to back up my DVDs to CD if i can save me more money

I just looked at this site. I guess it's up to you to what you wish to use but i'm a little sceptical that they claim it is as good a quality as a dvd, and onto a single disc as well!!
I would have to see the finished product before I ever considered using/buying it.

Oh, I'm sure it will be all pixelated to the point of barely viewable. It's up to you, man.

To be honest, I doubt it would be up to the level of VHS quality.

hey thanks for the info guys. i figure its just better to back up my DVDs on a DVD-R, and rather not lose any quality. i found out that DVDDecrypter works best plus its free. :p

If I'm Not Mistaken, All the programs in Squeeze 5&6 are freeware. You can just download them.. Dont pay for packaging Vittro....
