Hi all, I'm new, so please forgive if this is wrong place for my question, and point me to the right place if you would.

I have an old film on DVD that is not good quality, very dark etc., that I would like to pull from DVD and put into a program where I could enhance some aspects of the video, then re-burn to DVD. Can anyone suggest the task flow for this, and the programs to use for each step, as well as pitfalls to avoid?

I believe I have the software necessary, and have used the programs, just not for this particular process.
