First of all im sorry if this is in the wrong section but it seems best suitted to this one. Heres my problem I have little knowledge about home theatres so would this work.

This is the TV

And this is the Hi-fi

If I used a scart from the tv into the hifi could I get the hifi to play what the tv is playing ? or would the hi fi only play the audio from a dvd ?

In other words is it possible for the hifi to act as an extension of speakers for the tv when viewing normal TV and not just DVDs?
