hi, im new at this so bare with me. i just bought a dvd player in japan (region 2)and want to change the region codes so i can watch movies from home (region 1). its a Cyberstorm KFG-SW/DKK-SW and it seems to be a pretty obscure model. any suggestions?

Use software to do the the task; unless you intend to keep the drive region 1. I think it's 4 changes and the drive becomes locked. DVD Region Free is a good app for this job. You go into device manager to change the region setting.
