Like I said, this is the first time I rip a dvd. I was quite happy because I was able to burn it, however the vcd movie doesn't play sound whatsoever. I don't know what happen? When I was in the DV2AVI program, I specifically chose 48 -->44 how it stated in the tutorial but I don't know what happened, no sound is output. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks,
The audio track you selected might be the wrong one. SmartRipper creates you bunch of files when it rips the movie, one of them is text file that contains information about the VOBs and what audio streams they have and in what order, look at that one and you should be able to see which audio track you should pick (English, AC3 for example) -- they're in same order in DVD2AVI's list (first audio stream listed in text file is 'Track 01' in AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI, etc).
Thanks for the reply dRD, however what I noticed when I was entering the vcd file in the nero window, layout window where you select the tracks that you want to burn,in one example I saw that the layout had to show the tracks. for ex. track 1, track2, track3, etc..,, but my vcd file was only 1 big .dat file with 744 MB I was wondering why didn't all my tracks show up.
I've also attempted my first rip of a cd. I wanted to get a copy of Disney's Fantasia 2000. I used SmartRipper to do the rip. The rip apparently was fine. I then switched to DVD2AVI. When previewing the video, I did not get any audio. I tried every track, and tried the different audio format options (Dolby, Linear PCM, MPeg Audio). Using Track two did build a wav file, but I couldn't play it by itself. I then created a MPeg movie using TMPEnc, but again, I got no sound.
Any thoughts? I've played around with this attempting both a complete rip and a partial rip, neither rip gets any sound at all.
