OK first off almost all the games i have burned have slow loading times and im not sure whats up. I use Memorex DVD +R discs and i get an exact copy but i get slow loading times. I use DVD Decryptor and everything seems fine except the games run slow ocassinaly. I have burned Metal Gear Solid 3, Neo Contra, Jak 3, Need for SPeed Underground 2, and DragonBall Z Budokai 3. Please help if you can.

I've had the exact same problems as you have.I've been told to use better disc's.Just as you are,I'm using Memorex.My dvd backup's are fine,but playing my PS2 backup's are extremely sluggish and the audio is horrid.(songs cut in and out)

I also use DVD Decrypter and burn at 2X.

YOUR MEDIA IS THE PROBLEM.
Ps2 will not read cheap dvd's

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list.

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:

RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)

i best media you can get is Sony or Verbatim work great on my ps2 slide card system. Michigan the game in (JAP) is probably one of the best back ups i ever got off the net. i creat my own back ups to or i buy them off the net only if it is a (JAP) game
