Dvd Movie Not Recognised On Pc Dvd Readers

I have a burnt copy of a movie, which when I put into 3 different computers the dvd readers will not recognise the disc. The movie plays fine in stand alone dvd players. Someone has told me that the movie was copied on a macintosh computer, would that explain the problem? Has anyone got any suggestions as to if or how I can copy it?
