winavi help!!!

whenever i use winavi to convert xvid to dvd and then through it in my dvd player sometimes during the movie i get a "popping" sound for about 2 minutes
is there anyway i can stop this?

Sorry, I'm a fundamentalist. OR you use http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm OR I won't answer (also, because I don't know WinAVI).
More, why AVI to DVD? A lame SVCD (or, maybe, even a VCD!) wont be much worse (which quality can have a conversion 700/900 MB AVI --> 4.5 GB DVD!? Garbage in = garbage out)
