HDLoader and CD-R

Is it possible to load a CD-R backup onto the hdd with HDLoader? The reason I'm trying to do this is because I want to play a patched version of a game. Or, should I transfer the files on to the hdd using execftps? And if that is the case, where do you put the files? HDLoader creates PP partitions, but it say they are only about 2mb. I would like to use HDLoader to run the game. Thanks.
