Well, I have a copy of a game that doesn't work (as in it doesn't go past the loading screen), but the ISO seems fine. Is it possible to burn the ISO from a copy that doesn't seem to work? And if so, how?

bad media, or burn speed was too fast.

^hmm maybe, but do you still think I can recover the ISO from the bad burn?
WHen I extracted it (ISO from bad burn)with DVD Decrypter, it had no problems. But when I burned it...no go.

That tells me its your MEDIA.
(the computer reads it but the ps2 does not)

YOU need to get some 4X MAX media.
And burn from 1x-2x.

http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list.

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:

RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)

well I used Ritek-Ridata -R (4x) the first time (same problem). Then I used GQ-R (this time blank screen instead of booting up to the loading screen).

But..it is possible to burn a copy from a bad burn if the ISO is ok right (at least I think it's ok)

You can copy a copy yes.

But if you copy a bad copy.

You still get a bad copy.

^I see, so there's no real way of recovering the ISO from the bad copy.

Though DVD Decrypter said it was ok, which is weird. And the ISO from the bad copy is exactly like the original ISO (same files, same filesize..ect).
