I am using a Canopus ADVC50 connected to the PC via firewire PCI card. I can capture video as long as I have recently logged into the PC from a cold boot. Once I capture video, exit the program, burn to disc, the re-open the program to capture more video it quits. I can see the live video in the preview screen (Windows Movie Maker) but when I click the capture button no video is captured. It seems to work but no data is getting recorded. If I shutdown the machine and start fresh again all seems to work (so long as I do not exit the capture software). Any ideas on how to solve this? I have been using both WMM and NeroVisionsExp 2 with good success so long as I don't exit the program.
