Why is it that whenever i try to access the site (around the time i am writing this) most of the time i get errors when trying to read threads? I get server errors and ie errors. Its even harder to reply to messages, i'll be surprised if this goes through on the first time.

Yep. Well aware of the fact. We placed finally an order for eight servers yesterday, so these issues will get sorted shortly.

eight new servers dedicated just to the forums? Wow. Didn't you say earlier that the search engine in the forum is what slows the servers down the most?

flip: That's pretty much the first thing that I will re-implement once the whole server move is over, we've received tons of complains about the Google thingy we have now.

this past weekend has been a pain in the butt trying to get on to the forum or do a reply to a post. is it just the sheer #s of posts, the work updating the servers or both. how much longer???

my guess is that admin is busy updating with new severs, so maybe some glitches and disconnections because of that. I've learned to copy your message before posting, in case it doesn't connect

We've experienced extremely bad luck with servers for the last 5 days. Our server guy (ketola) is building the new servers as we speak and we truly hope to make the switch at around 22nd of February.

Was just wondering if asking for a temporary stopage to unnecessary posts would help any. I enjoy having fun along with everyone else but if having all those threads running is causing some of the slow down then it would be better to use the forum for actual question/answer threads just for the few weeks until the new equipment is up and running. I don't think most of the members would have a problem with that if it helps getting access to the forum. There are times I can't even get to the forum home page. Just a suggestion.
