i downloaded movies and having a problem

i downloaded movies from the net and i burned it to my dvd disc but no not seemed to play it on my dvd player i keep on getting a can not play message why is it that? i used dvd decrypter and dvd shrink i even tried nero 6 but can not seem to play it on my dvd player pls help

First thing to do is check if the Media is supported by the DVD Player.

Media = DVD Disc +R, -R, -RW, +RW, DL...Check your DVD Player and see if says what media supports. Let's say it support -R, -RW you won't be able to play any other media e.g. +R, +RW, DL.. and so on. If says it support -/+ R/RW you should be able to play any disc.
