Hello im kinda new to the ps2 scene but i heard about using a custom hd a while back.. and i was wondering.. if i can get a custom hd(40gig maxtor) and install ffxi i asked a friend if you can install ffxi off the cd on to the ps2 hdd and she said i dunno.. so that wasn't much of a help..

but what i want to know is..
is it possible to install ffxi on a non ps hdd?
can you get the mounting for the hd(like the one that comes with ffxi) or is there another wy the securely attach the hd?
what would i need to attach the hd to the net adaptor?
Can i format the hd to the ps2 format on the pc or would i have to use the ps2?

my ps2 is curren't not modded, but i have access to one.
