Damn Ive semi installed and something broke DUO2

I have recently got a duo 2 and its not easy to do, on most of the diagrams for installation there is a (S) location on the board i cant get the wire to stick to it.Is there another location for this connection? and today i tried it again and the resistor/capacitor what ever it is to the left of this connection point has just broken, can anyone help me replace this part ?

Oh and with the modchip not powered, sometimes the ps2 powers on but no pics on my tv but i do get the lights on the reset etc, any ideas? and now i get pics on occasion, but the cdrom drive isnt spining!
