Hi, I am in the UK and I bought this DVD from ebay. The first DVD plays fine. It is the movie encoded in DVD format.

The problem is the second DVD. It is a High Definition version of the movie encoded in WMV format. My computer has all the specs to play the movie. The problem is that when I am trying to play the file, windows try to aquire the licence and I get the message "This movie is currently only available in the US and Canada, bla, bla, bla. Windows Media player does not rely only on the region of the DVD drive in order to determine the region you are (something like that)".

Is there a way around this problem? How does windows media player know what country I am trying to play the movie from? Is it from my ip adress? Cause I tried some of these programs that remove/reset the region of my DVD drive and they didn't work.
What I am thinking of doing is get an internet connection with a free ISP in the US and try to aquire the licence while I am connected to it. Will it be a waste of money? Can you suggest a good one?
Any other workarounds? I tried the Freeme program but it couldn't crack the WMV file.
