i patched my unpacked hd loader... now i have 3 elf hdloaderunpacked.elf... outfile.elf... outfile_packed.elf... what am i supposed to do with this files? where do i put them? i'm trying to do the mem card version with ps2keylauncher... any help would be great....

if you have a mod and the hd loader files why doen't you just burn the files to a cd and then use that

i don't think you need a mem exploit

i might just try that... but first what do i do with this 3 files? HDLOADERUNPACKED.ELF OUFILE.ELF OUFILE_PACKED.ELF... where do i put it? what files do i delete?

I can't help you there, but I know that you will probally need to burn the files to a CD R with Nero or DVD Dycreptor

When you said you unpacked the .elf file, that was just so that you could apply any patches that you wanted to use. After that, you don't need those files, you actually have to recrunch or repack that .elf file so that you can use it again whether it be by a MC exploit or just a burnt copy. All you need is the elf file if you are exploiting but you need to make a ps2 ISO with cdgenps2 or something to get the burned copy to work with your modded ps2.

do i replaced the original hdloader.elf with the repack hdloader.elf or do i leave the hdloader.elf file alone.... i was gonna try to do what superstui suggested but my ps2 is barely reading ps2 cds and dvds... it reads psx games sometimes... so i'm just gonna do the memcard exploit with keylauncher.... smcdonald, can you help make the exploit? which elf do you use to boot the hd loader? the hdloader.elf or the patched hdloader.elf? tnx

When you unpack your .elf it is unpacked usually to a file called "unpacked.elf." You then used this .elf file to apply patches like the 48 bit LBA patch then you usually export that file to "outfile.elf." Then you pack it, the elf that you probably need is "outfile_packed.elf." Rename it so you know that it is HDL when you use it on the exploit.

There are good tutorials and software packages on these forums to make an independence installer to install your mc exploit. just search the forums, i think L-Burna did a pretty good one. But if your ps2 is modded then it should be pretty easy, just get the files, make your title.db with psx disc ID's, put them into cdgenps2, make an iso, burn and boot and you should be all set.
