I own Nero and Dvdxcopy Platinum and I want to install dvdshrink. What I am worried about is if they will conflict with eachother. Not saying I am going to run them both at the same time. But just in case can someone help me out with this. I don't want a guess or someone to tell me that they have them both with no problem either. I need a fact for an answer if you please. Thanks for the help.

Well what kind of fact are you looking for if not the fact that someone has both with no problems?

I guess you have never had a program conflict with another and work for a while. Then at any time stop working because of the conflict. But thanks.

Actually I was trying to find out exactly what it was you wanted to know.
But you are right, I haven't had that happen. The conflicts that I've incurred have been from updating or changing my system. Programs don't just get along one day and have an argument and not get along the next. Something has to change to for them to not get along.

Both Shrink and Xcopy will not be updated any further.

Nero is the default burning app for Shrink.

Use DVD Decrypter for burning automatic with DVD Shrink - can't be any program conflicts.

I have the following programs all installed and can use them all with no problems.

DVD Shrink
DVD X Copy Express
DVD Decrypter
Anydvd
Clonedvd2
Nero Ultra 6 complete package
DVD Santa
Nero IN CD(may conflict on some systems)

That should be enough information.

See the thing is I bought DVDxcopy for my main burning and now I would like to back up my backup. I have Nero and want to us the dvdshrink and Nero for that pupose. Because of the fact that they are both dvd rippers they might have to share certain things. For example I had Sonic which is very similar to Nero and you cant have both of them installed at once it just won't happen. So I guess I will settle for an answer for someone that has both Dvdxcopy and Dvdshrink working on there pc. Thank You

All you need to do a backup of a backup is the Nero Disc Copy Feature, Your 1st backup is no longer encrypted so any copy program will do the job. DVD X Copy programs were designed so you can't use X copy to re copy itself. It won't let you do it in most cases. But Nero can. Just Open Nero dvd section and click copy complete disc.

Yea but I am only working with one drive so I have to rip it to my hard drive first. Does Nero have a ripper with it?

With one drive, Nero will copy the disc to your HD first, then ask for a blank disc when its ready. Take out the original and insert the blank and it should burn.

Is that when it asks the destination drive image. It doesn't say harddrive or anything.

The destination drive is your only burner. It will automatically copy to the HD first, then ask for the blank media at the half way point.
