So after waiting 2 weeks, my Japanese copy of Sakura Taisen (the remade original) for PS2 has arrived. Unfortunately I can't get it to work.

I have a V9 ps2 with a fliptop and swap magic 3.3

When I use the DVD version of Swap Magic it tells me that Sakura Wars (a DVD game) is an invalid PS2 disc. I hopped onto the forums and it seems that it may be a TOC issue. So I used that method with GTA: Vice City, and it still didn't work.

Any ideas on how to get this to work? Or did I waste my money?

Have you tried using the special load feature (square instead of X after swap)? That sometimes works. I have limited knowledge but it's worth a try. I know since i got 3.3 all of my games load without having to use DVD Loader or other special programs. Wish i could figure out how to use 3.3 with my AR Max though.
