How do you convert and burn SVCD to DVD?

The SVCD movie I recently got was in a .TAR file and I extracted it..........it left me with well over 50 files, some of which appear to be compressed as well. This is throwing me off.

How do I convert the SVCD to MPEG2 so that I can burn it to DVD? Or is there a better way?
