Currently in the process of getting a unit mod'd & HD upgraded.

I will be going to wireless router setup @ home for internet (RR) within the month, that said, whats the best way to achieve xbox ~ pc transfers (cross-over & router connections will be unavailable, based on locations inside the house, can not route it.)..

Advice?...

You COULD route it. You could get a wireless router (like linksys) and get a Xbox wireless adapter.

Here's the MS wireless adapter
Other router Co. make them also.

get one that is a wirless-G not -B

I really like my NetGear wirless router and I would stay away from D-link. Linksys are good also

Thanks for the link..

One thing.. I've seen 54 mbps & 108 mbps ones.

Is there an advantage as far as file transfers ? ie... from xbox to pc.. using wireless...

or from one pc to another..

thanks...

transfers will be very slow using wireless...i occasionally use a notebook with a wireless card to ftp to my xbox...and it takes forever compared to using the pc that is directly connected to the router.

here is an example:(xbox is connect to router cat5cable)
I transfer lets say Bourne Suprmeacy (1gig .avi file)

notebook with wireless card to xbox
500kb/s takes about 55-60min to transfer

pc connected to directly to router to xbox
7,000kb/s takes about 5-7min

if you go everything wireless i think you will be very upset about how long things will take to transfer...that is i guess if you plan on sending large files over the network...if i were you i would do my best to make sure you have your xbox connected to your router and a pc connected to that same router...otherwise you are in for a long wait.

1.6 xbox
x3
dual hd's
seagate 300gig hd
seagate 100gig notebook hd
lots of led's

Halo2 LE(the blue case)
1.4
x3/x3 control panel/x3 lcd
400gig seagate
blue/green eject light
white controller port lights

Live is hard enough to set up with wires. Good luck with the wireless thing though - should be really cool if you get it working. I heard that most Netgear routers are highly compatable.
