You'll probably have better luck posting this in the DVDR media forum.

Suggestion:

G02 = poor

Stay with -R media for your games

Ritek = (G04) very good DVD-R
Phillips = Very good
TDK = very good

Cheers,

Pete does -R media work better than +R media for PS2? Mine only takes -R so that's all I use, but I see people claiming that +R is far better in a PS2 than -R (as far as PS2's that play both).

Hey Pete,
I believe twinkel said R02 not G02. I don't know if the quality grades are equal in them, but apparently R0# is a new ID code lineup for Ritek.

Unfortunately that isn't quite so. manufacturers have different grades of media. Like cars made in the US by General Motors. There are the top of the line, Cadillac, the middle grade like Buick and the basic like Chevrolets. We like the GO4's, and the RiData GO3's but not the GO2's. That's the reason when we recommend discs we add the dye type OR we add the name i.e. Verbatim, DataLife OR the DataLife PLUS BUT there are Verbatim's that don't burn for crap and they are the straight Verbatims. Of course, there are a bunch of Pirate discs of all types, especially TY's and Verbatims but I was only referring to the regular "made by" discs. Confusing isn't it ?

(Zippy, the different category of discs offered are determined by the speed. GO4's are 4X and the RO4's are the same Dye but they are the 8X, hence the different prefix)

I hope that clears things up.

Pete

Thanks Pete. You've cleared up one confusion and created another. I thought G05 was 8X.
