I have no problems copying most movies, there are certain movies that I cant copy. I have dvdx copy gold version 3.01 using xp os. I was trying to burn The Grudge and The forgotten and Little black book. Can someone out there tell me where I can update my software or what can I do to burn certain movies.
Don't worry about updating, it's not gonna happen. Just ditch that crappy software. Get DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, both freeware. DVD Decrypter can handla both of those movies.
Thanks. I got both programs DVD Shrink and decrypter, It worked perfect, except in the beginning of the movie the forgotten,I have to fast forward it for a couple of seconds for the movie to play. But its a perfect copy other than that. Can someone tell me what did I do wrong.
Wherever your DVD Decrypter decrypt the files to, you should delete that folder and also if you create an image first then burn to dvd, you should delete that also. The program you are using should tell you where it saved the files to. You just delete the folder, oh and you might want to defrag your computer once in a while to. I make a new partition, 10gig, make backup onto that partition then I delete the folder, I can also format it and it's brand new again. This way my hard drive aren't fragmented as much.

not sure but if its sony acros new type protection then you may need to get main movie only! or full disc but insert a still image on that first part! else it will reply a black screen i think? forever!
Check the end of "The Forgotten" thread on AfterDawn- someone ran into the same problem with the blank screen at the beginning of the movie and they listed their solution (there may be several messages regarding that). Actually, as far as ripping the new Sony movies, search "The Forgotten" thread where you should be able to find solutions to any problems you are experiencing with these DVDs (it is 5 pages). Sony has a new encryption scheme which inserts errors on the disk. However, the new version of Decrypter works great. I rip the DVD to my hard drive with Decrypter in File mode (some people use other modes) and then compress with Shrink and burn with Nero (or you can use another program to burn). A lot of people have used Decrypter and Shrink with these movies and they work great! Some people are using AnyDVD, but remember that Decrypter and Shrink are free. Some of the movies that have this encryption are "The Forgotten", "The Grudge" and "Resident Evil."
