I just picked up the 716A and ran a sheep test on it.

I used a Compusa 80min 4x CDRW disc I found laying around.

sd2old = pass
sd251 = pass
bad = cyclic redundancy check
sheep3 = cyclic redundancy check

Plextor 716A is a 2 sheep burner

You should be able to make a working backup of Simcity now without any problems.

Give it a whirl and post back the results.

Does the 708 or 712 pass any of the other 2 tests?
