Hi,

I just installed a DMS4 Lite chip to a friend's PS2 v3 (euro). However, I encountered a weird problem with the tray.

The console boots up fine, displays the intro and I can disable to mod chip to recieve a "DMS4 Disabled" screen. But if I press eject, the tray will fly out really fast. If I insert a disc and close the tray, it will again close really fast (like three times the normal speed), but immediately there's an really awful screeching/wailing sound which sounds like there was a kitten stuck in the drive. I haven't had the guts to let it stay on for more than about 10 seconds, but it doesn't seem to start reading the disc properly.

The owner said the console had done this a couple times before, but the problem had gone away by itself. I'm not sure if it's the mod that's causing the problem. Could it be the ribbon cables (they seem fine) or something else?
