dvd rw running so slow

i been using nero and dvd shrink and dcryptor for awhile now but i reformated my computer and now my shits running very slow.
it use to take 6 mins to burn off a dvd now its takes upwards of 20 mins

now on avg shrink and buring would take like 30-40 mins ... now i find it taking upwards of 1hour 30 mins

sum of these dvds arent even 4.7 gigs ... sum are under 4 gigs ... and this shit just is takin too long

anyone care to help ?

using Dell P4 2.4ghz
256ram
plextor 712a dvdrw


also to add.... to me it seems like its running on 1/2 the speed it use to ..... the light on the dvdrw drive blinks super slow unlike it use too

Check the IDE channels in device manager. Be certain that data is transfered using DMA not PIO. Check the primary and secondary channels.

that shit doesnt make sense to me ... im not a tech wiz


but i check all my things under IDE
i had to change 1 to dma if avalible..

will let you know in 10 mins how it goes


ALSO ... when i use to burn ... i was able to surf the web and run appz ....... now i can do nothing cuz everything runs super slow when buring or encoding etc

okay ..... i think i did whaty that page said
but my computer still runs soooooooooo slow whne burning ..... i could barely type this shit ...

i dunno what to do ... but its really pissing me off ..... do you think my dvdrw is dead ? ive burnt over 300-400 dvds with it .... ?
