Severe Problems with TMPGEnc!! PLEASE HELP ME!

I've been using TMPGEnc for a while now and have never had any problems. However, recently, when I've tried to burn a DVD, the result is that the video is jittery (stops and starts).

Encoding process that I've always used:

1. Using TMPGEnc, get AVI file and from it get m2v
file (video only)
2. Using VirtualDubMod and BeSweet, create AC3
audio from WAV which is extracted from AVI
3. Project (i.e. menus, etc) is created using
DVDLAB PRO and then burned.

So far as I've been able to determine this has only been ocurring when using AVI's with an XVID MPEG-4 encode. When trying it with AVI's with DIVX v3 (DIV3) encode, there is no problem.

I have no idea what could be causing this.

I have all of the neccessary codecs and the AVI paramenters are identified using AVICODEC and TMPGEnc set accordingly.

The media that I have been using has not been constant (i.e.- I doubt that this is the problem). I have used Memorex, TDK, Traxdata.

I have also reinstalled all of the relevant software a number of times and still no dice.... I'm baffled to tell you the truth.

Things I've tried:

Changing the fourcc details to DivX, no luck

Altering the priorites of the VFAPI
plug-ins. Again, no luck.

I really can't solve this myself. I appreciate how busy everyone is and will be very greatful for any help that could be given
