Problem with loading a PAL on my NTSC ps2 using SM3.3

I purchased SM 3.3 with the slide tool to play an import of a game called Rolling. I'll boot up the PS2 with the SM disk and get the load screen just fine. I'll select the NTSC mode and swap the disks out just fine. It's then that i'm having the problem. The game will load and run for maybe 15 seconds and then just start skipping, always in the same spot. If I select PAL of Normal at the load screen the game will load in black and white and the picture will be rolling but it will not skip at all. Can anybody help me with this problem?

Also what does 'Normal Boot' and 'Special Boot' mean on the SM 3.3 load screen?
