Okay so I plan on softmodding my version 1.6 Xbox using the AR Max hack and im using Auto-installer Deluxe. What I need to know is, what do I do to play on LIVE again? Would simply locking the harddrive again work or what? I also read somewhere online that you can still boot LIVE games with a softmod by putting the game in and resetting the system and allowing the game to boot before the dash. Anyone tested this theory?

Almost every tutorial I've ever read claims that modding on a 1.6 Xbox is possible with the Evox M8+ Bios

1) you can't flash a tsop on 1.6 xbox
2) there is no tsop on 1.6 xbox
3) it is not possible to flash a bios on 1.6 xbox
4) buy a modchip

Yes I know that is true that Xbox 1.6 consoles don't have a TSOP, but the method of AR Max im using doesn't require that the bios be flashed. I'm not sure how it all works out but there are 2 methods of doing it, and I am doing it the Xbox 1.6 compatible way.

P.S. Besides that doesn't answer my original question

Hi There,
I have just purchased an xbox with 1.6 version bios.
Would anyone mind assisting me in soft-modding it? (and also reversing the mod)

thanks

Ok i just modded a version 1.6 too softmod of coarse. You have to use a UDE 2 for the 1.6 version of the xbox. I did mine with 007 AUF and it worked like a charm.

Hi,
I have found an article which seems pretty straight forward here
http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/114/62

I thought I'd give this a go unless anyone can advise against.

thx

Yeah, how do you do XBOX live with the SOFTMOD? Please someone follow up. I will if I find anything. There has to be at least 2 ways to do it.

That sounds suspiciously like the wrong version of MechAssault. I had a similar problem because of this in which the bug which allows the running of the linux code has been patched - fortunately, I'd managed to get an original splinter cell at the same time and it worked without a hiccup.

Oh, I used Softmod Installer Deluxe V2.0 in conjunction with Advance Installer Deluxe V1.1 to perform the softmod.

Having said that - there are other ways to softmod your box - but that's way over my head :)

Ive softmodded about 30 xboxes for people all using UDE2 i use the mechassault hack...first of all make sure its not the "platinum hits" edition..that one wont work..2nd make sure you erase any previous saved mechassault data that might be on the hard drive(even if you just run the disc once and never actually play it puts a save on the hdd)you can email me at justin2042@yahoo.com i got nothin to do today...
