I have an RM file that I want to eventually burn to a DVD with subtitles with the best possible quality.
To do this I thought I would have to convert first to an AVI file then I would use the TMPGENC to do the rest which I have done a couple of times so am used to. Problem was finding programs. First I used TINRA with stabiliser and GUI. Three times I tried (one with DivX encode, one uncompressed and one with Huffyv or whatever its called) and all resulted in files where I could hear the sound but the video was just a black screen. Gspot said I had all the codecs necessary (I installed all codecs as said in the "Codec problems" thread by Praetor) but it wouldnt play video.

Next I tried using other programs but most were only trials that added watermarks.

So, bold, brave Afterdawn forumers, please tell me the best way to convert my 555mb RM file to an AVI file without too much loss of quality, then hoping to convert to MPG DVD video file with .sub subtitles included, and if possible, step by step how to do it.

By the way, i dont have the official real codec, I use real alternative. If this is the problem with TINRA i'll kill myself ;)
