I saw a post where someone stated that when they used fimware 1.31 with this media, they would get errors on about every 2 out of 10 disks they burned. I believe he stated the movies would sometimes freeze in one of the last scenes. He mentioned he had went back to the 1.33 firware and burned at 1x and didn't have any issues. I was wanting to go to the 1.31 so I could burn at 2x but just wondered if anyone else had this same experience. Thanks....

I have tried to burn 3 ritek 2x dvd-r. Using Nero and Pioneer A04 drive firmware 1.31. They burn without error, but have issue after playing about 1/2 through. Not sure what is wrong at this point. Using princo with 1x has worked great with me for over 100 dvd.

So is anyone using the 1.31 firmware burning unbranded Ritek at 2x without any problems??????????

Used White Top "Ritek" discs.
Burned at 2x and played movies fine till about 3/4 of the way through then would freeze up. Retried at 1x with no problems at all.

I had the same problems with firmware 1.33. This week I upgraded to firmware 1.40 (Gradius RPC-1 2x4all) and have burnt 8 DVDs perfectly at 2x speed. I used Ritek DVD-R (G-03) and Vivastar.

i have a pioneer ao4 drive and i upgraded my firmware burned two dvd's one of the disks was alegacy 1x compatible the other was a 2x no name disk that came with the drive movie played fine.

Are all Gen 3 media marked Gen 3 on the center circle, or how would one go about checking what gen the media is that you are using? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have always wondered this.

Using ADVINFO.EXE get the PRE-RECORDED INFORMATION IN LEAD-IN and you'll have the info about your disc.
Mine is:
00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 79 0E 0B .B...@....P..Y..
FE FF 80 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 47 00 04 30 33 00 .....RITEKG..03.

Some of you said you upgraded to firmware 1.4 and the ritek's are burning fine at 2X. Were you guys having the same problems we were before the upgrade, Dvd's burning fine but when played they are corrupted about 1/2 through?

i wasnt testing all the movies i burned until spiderman kept freezing at almost the same scene everytime. i flashed back to 1.33. i havent heard the ritek 2x at 1.40 but im gonna test that now.
