I have a video file that's slightly larger than the maximum 700Mb that a CD-R can carry. I was wondering if there's anyone who knows how to crop a little off the file in order to fit it on a CD-R? Thanks.

Wrong forum room. Video editing and manipulation questions to video forums.

How much larger than 700mb? Can't you overburn it? (S)VCDs carry 800megs of video, so MPEGs may be well over 700 megs.

Next order of business is which file type are you trying to crop ?? avi or mpeg ??

Your thread title says both, there are different methods for different file types.

Crop a little off the movie. Amm a little more specific than that???

I wanted to know of any ways to crop both avi AND mpeg files. Any info would be much appreciated. Right now I have an avi that's just over the limit, and wanted to snip a bit off the end.

best bet is to check articles first.. here: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/

pay close attention to the two labeled

1) Splitting MPEG-1/2 videos with DV-Tool
2) Split AVI files with VirtualDub

that should do it for you.
